Connecting Hearts & Minds with Touch

About Jose M. Orozco

My life story is one of personal dedication and learning. Knowing the self is the most imporant item we can master inour lives and while I have learned much, there is much more to go. My story with massage and bodywork began when I was just a young boy. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and as part of her trreatments, she would receive massage therapy. What massage therapy was doing for her seemed to be the most effective form of treatment in my 10 year old eyes. I could feel her feeling better, and it was the only treatment she received at the time that seemed to do just that. Luckily she has been cancer free since and I believe it was the use of alernative medicine, personal determination, and the willingness to be open and submitt to her higher power that was the ultimate healing.

After experincing the work my mother went through from an "objective" lens, my next journey with massage began with a gym membership. I began to work with a belly dancing troupe and the leader was a professional massage therapist. Having just enough money for a 30 min massage, so I scheduled with her. What was scheduled as a 30 minute massage was then expanded to a 90 minute. The experience changed the course of my life forever. It was the most amazing feeling to have work done. The sensations touch provided, the pleasure and pain, the deep relaxation while in the midst of passive movement. I had never experienced anything like it before and it was then I realized the true power of bodywork. Thank you Kelly Kerns!

From there, I began to seek out opportunities to work on people which eventually landed me an apprenticeship with a successful Bodyworker by the name of Tina Lynn Baldwin, the only one I knew who actually operated a massage clinic and spa. With her, I learned much about the discipline it takes to be successful in the field and how dedicated you must be to learning the body and always being able to adapt to circumstances. I learned about the many styles and types of massage available and ways to help clients outside of the treatment room. Her guidance shows up in every session as she taught me the importance of a thorough intake process. Thanks Tina!

During my last year of public school, I was awarded an opportunity to work with Paul Meuter, PT, and began my deep dive into the love of anatomy and physiology. It was here I learned that the body will always adapt to the most efficient pathway of use and that the entire body is malleable and fragile, but also hearty and robust. I learned mostly what recovery from soft tissue injury does to the body and how to correct it or at least ease into the adaptation there of. One of his assistants by the name of Stephanie, was an anatomy instructor for the massage therapy program at the local trade school and she guided me to learn more about the mechanics of the body and how to apply therapeutic techniques and tools in a safe and effective manner. This training primed me for the next step and opened the door for a professional trade program.

And, that is where I met Marcia Heusted, NP. She was the director of the program and really opened my eyes to what it means to have strong boundaries with compassion and empathy. Her method of professional relationship building has guided me in every interaction since. Not only was it her strong ideals for boundaries but also her intuition that gently showed her humanity. She taught me the grace of business interactions interwoven with humbleness and humanity. She has since begun her path to a new system of energy healing called, Quantum Field Healing, to which I am proud to say I have been personally trained and certified in through her.

With such great teaching from amazing and successful experts, I began my journey working as a massage therapist. I have worked in hot spring resorts, medical clinics, franchises, and have recently began the journey of an independent business. While always having a few private clients throughout the years, the recent pandemic and success prior, has lead me to feel comfortable and confident enough to provide services to you, my community, in the ways I feel are best If you've read this far, thank you! I hope that we get the opportunity to work together and free the world of pain and stress, while also learning how to deepen our connection to our bodies and minds through a multisensory rich experience that is provided in a safe and trusting environment. Hope to see you soon!
